As the pivot point of State of Becoming, Collapse of Certainty carries the series’ most direct visual and conceptual confrontation with rupture. Its fractured central plane and directional impasto distinguish it technically from the more atmospheric, softer-edged works elsewhere in the series, giving it a more physically assertive surface.
